Plug Power Inc. in Albany, NY, is seeking a Project Manager for Hydrogen Systems with a Pre-Construction and Permitting focus.

You will drive 3rd-party engineering coordination, secure permits, and manage contractor bids to keep projects on schedule and revenue forecasts on track. The role requires a strong background in construction project management, experience with regulatory submissions, and the ability to read P&IDs.

Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, or other applicable field) and 3+ years in project-based engineering functions and construction project management.
• PMP certification is highly preferred.
• Ability to travel up to 100% to customer sites and jurisdictional offices in the U.S.
• Experience interfacing with AHJs (Fire Marshals, zoning boards, town councils) to secure approvals without delays.
• Proven mechanical systems expertise and ability to review submittals for errors before regulators.

Responsabilités

• Reduce the pre-construction duration by optimizing engineering workflows and permitting playbooks.
• Forecast construction start dates with high accuracy for planning and revenue forecasting.
• Manage all pre-construction activities: 3rd-party engineering, bids, and permitting lifecycle.
• Lead coordination and present to Authorities Having Jurisdiction to clear regulatory gateways.
• Follow up in person with local authorities to prevent stalls and keep projects moving.
