Qualifications

• English oral and written communication skills are required.
• Ability to learn Windows-based software including MS Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Ability to learn PI Historian and IFS programs as applicable to the position.
• Must possess a valid driver's license; willing and able to travel and stay overnight for employer business.
• Associate's degree in electrical engineering tech or related field is preferred.
• Knowledge of hydro generating units and AC power circuits.
• Working experience related to power grid operations.
• Experience with operation, repair, and maintenance of hydro turbine/generator systems and related equipment (electrical, mechanical, hydraulic).
• High voltage transmission training and experience.
• Ability to read and understand electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with operational requirements and procedures.
• Identify and operate station hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems; perform troubleshooting.
• Work with crews to repair maintenance/operational problems to improve unit availability.
• Maintain basic inventory control on spare parts and equipment.
• Adapt to changing situations and priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Monitor and report on equipment quality from disassembly to commissioning.
