East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) invites applications for a Hydroelectric Power Plant Mechanic at the Pardee Center near Valley Springs. The role covers operations and maintenance of hydroelectric plants, pumping facilities, and water conveyance systems.

You may supervise others and work with SCADA tools to monitor remote facilities. The ideal candidate has extensive hydroelectric maintenance experience, strong problem-solving, and the ability to communicate with staff and regulatory

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Three years of journey-level experience in mechanical/electrical/electromechanical equipment similar to hydroelectric plants or large pumping plants.
• Valid California driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, outdoors, and overtime; ability to wear respiratory protection.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, maintain, overhaul, and adjust mechanical and electrical equipment used in hydroelectric power generation and water systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance on plant equipment and facilities.
• Read and interpret drawings, plans, and specifications.
• Develop maintenance plans using CMMS; create and update work orders.
• Operate generators, switches, SCADA consoles, and related equipment.
• Direct the work of others when required.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
