Job summary

US Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District is seeking an Electrical/Electronics Engineer to coordinate tests and maintenance of electrical equipment at hydroelectric plants. The role involves developing testing procedures, coordinating with maintenance teams, and reviewing contractor activities to ensure reliability and safety.

The position requires an ABET-accredited engineering degree or equivalent, with potential licensure or EI/EIT/PE credentials.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program or equivalent combination of education and experience as described in the job announcement.
Professional licensure or registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or PE is acceptable for qualification.
Familiarity with testing, calibration, and maintenance of electrical and electronic equipment in hydroelectric plants.

Responsibilities

Test, calibrate, and maintain electrical and electronic equipment such as generators, transformers, circuit breakers, controls, and protective relays.
Coordinate testing activities with plant maintenance and other stakeholders to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Develop maintenance criteria and testing procedures for complex electrical systems and update testing software as required.
Witness and review contractor-led testing for hydropower rehabilitation projects.
