Job summary

NorthWestern Energy seeks a Hydro Foreman to lead dispatching and operation activities, ensuring safety, compliance and optimal hydro generation performance. You will plan, organize, and direct work, supervise crews, and coordinate maintenance to minimize downtime, with travel as needed and overtime during peak service needs.

You will work under the Superintendent of remote plants, aligning with safety standards and the Hydro Generation business plan, while maintaining strong cross-team

Qualifications

• Strong commitment to safety, leadership and accountability.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of rotating electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Ability to pass physical test for access to hydro plants.
• Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to lead and develop employees.
• Strong conflict resolution and communication skills.
• Experience in Foreman 1 role (1+ year) for promotion.
• Energy Industry Fundamentals certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and direct work.
• Order parts, scan invoices, and complete other computer or paperwork related tasks.
• Ensure completion of work to minimize out of service time of equipment.
• Perform all work as requested by Superintendent.
• Work overtime including evenings and weekends in response to acute service needs.
• Travel away from home area and stay overnight on occasion.
• Supervise personnel to ensure maximum safe and efficient operation of plants.
• Coordinate plant maintenance activities to match operating conditions.
• Coordinate transmission line switching and maintenance to maintain reliability and system stability.
