Job summary

NorthWestern Energy is seeking a seasoned Maintenance Supervisor for Hydro facilities in the Great Falls area. You will supervise craft employees, manage budgets, and oversee safe, efficient maintenance and large projects under the Superintendent Power Generation - Hydro Maintenance and Reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management preferred or 8+ years of equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in industrial plant operations and maintenance.
• 5 years supervisory experience.
• Power generation experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of collective bargaining agreements and safety procedures.
• Experience developing budgets, cost controls, and schedules.
• Experience using CMMS and reporting tools.
• Ability to analyze equipment performance and safety.
• Proven safe working practices leadership.
• Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Energy Industry Fundamentals 2.0 certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead, direct and assist with the maintenance crews, ensuring a safe environment and adherence to the bargaining agreement.
• Evaluate budgets, plan work, and communicate organizational directions.
• Develop achievable schedules, outage lists, and maintenance backlogs.
• Forecast and schedule tasks for daily work, annual overhauls, planned and forced outages.
• Coordinate with engineering, operations, maintenance and vendor/contractor personnel.
• Lead special projects and ensure quality control upon assembly.
• Ensure regular attendance and be available for 24-hour on-call status as required.
• Adhere to safety standards and the Code of Business Conduct & Ethics.
• Support safety initiatives and local safety improvement efforts.
