Job summary

TxDOT's Houston District Hydraulics Section seeks a Transportation Engineer I or II (Hydraulics) to support drainage reviews, PS&E, and master planned communities adjacent to TxDOT facilities. You'll work with hydrology and hydraulics experts to deliver safe, resilient transportation infrastructure.

The role involves reviewing drainage reports, coordinating with local governments, and providing technical assistance in drainage design and hydraulics evaluations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related science; TX PELS acceptance preferred.
• 4–5 years of engineering/transportation engineering experience; substitutions allowed.
• Valid driver's license and Professional Engineer licensure required or attainable.

Responsibilities

• Review drainage reports and assist with PS&E and drainage design tasks.
• Coordinate with local governments and agencies on drainage issues.
• Provide technical assistance in hydraulics evaluations and hydrology matters.
• Lead on-site engineering reviews and support project development.
