Job description

The Machine Technician III is responsible for providing high-quality repair service on equipment to respond to customer needs in a positive, caring, and timely manner, ensuring maximum value for work performed.

What You'll Do:
  • Complete assigned jobs and tasks to meet flat rate times and re-do metrics.
  • Work safely and follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Complete related paperwork and access databases required to complete jobs (work order, parts order, JSA, DBS, SIMS, SIS web, STW) accurately and promptly.
  • Follow contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations.
  • Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, and test and adjust assemblies with the ability to self-monitor work quality.
  • Demonstrate mastery of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments, laptops, diagnostic software, and cranes and rigging equipment.
  • Provide accurate quotes and pricing estimates to customers.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot problems, recommend repairs, and perform critical machine and engine repairs and adjustments.
  • Apply specific failure analysis procedures for proper diagnosis.
  • Test and verify the correct operation of all repairs and adjustments.
  • Adhere to all company policies.
  • Complete all Level I, II, & III training in a timely and proficient manner.
  • Mentor Machine team members.
  • Obtain or possess adequate tooling to perform duties.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need:
  • High school diploma or GED; or five to eight years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Knowledge of database software, internet software, manufacturing software, and order processing systems.
  • Must be at least 21 years old to operate field vehicles.
  • May need to complete a DOT physical.
  • May require MSHA certification and other qualifications.
  • Certification prior to operating a forklift and/or man lift.
  • General knowledge of engines, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic systems and components.
  • Flexibility to work various schedules, including shift work, overtime, and on-call duties.
  • Must be certified in air-conditioning.
  • Successfully complete Work Steps assessment.

Employees must perform physical activities such as standing, walking, handling, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, balancing, sitting, and smelling. Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

The work environment involves exposure to moving mechanical parts, chemicals, wet/humid conditions, high places, fumes, weather extremes, electrical shock risks, and vibration. Noise levels are usually moderate. Travel up to 20% may be required. This is a safety-sensitive position and subject to change based on employer needs.
