  • Read and interpret Technical Orders, hydraulic schematics, engineering drawings, and maintenance manuals.
  • Remove and replace aircraft components as required.
  • Complete maintenance documentation accurately and in accordance with established procedures.
  • Support aircraft inspections and operational readiness.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Comply with host facility safety and quality regulations and Tyonek policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

General Description

Hydraulics personnel support KC-135 aircraft maintenance operations. This position is based at Fairchild AFB, WA and requires CONUS/OCONUS travel to support maintenance operations throughout the United States and overseas. Ideal candidates specialize in aircraft hydraulic systems, with experience troubleshooting, repairing, servicing, and testing hydraulic components to maintain peak aircraft performance and mission readiness.

Duties
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft hydraulic systems.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, service, and replace hydraulic components and assemblies.
  • Perform operational checks, leak checks, and system testing.
  • Read and interpret Technical Orders, hydraulic schematics, engineering drawings, and maintenance manuals.
  • Remove and replace aircraft components as required.
  • Complete maintenance documentation accurately and in accordance with established procedures.
  • Support aircraft inspections and operational readiness.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Comply with both host facility safety and quality regulations/requirements as well as all applicable Tyonek quality and safety policies to ensure program success.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 4 – 6 years on-the-job experience in hydraulic aircraft maintenance-related discipline, preferably KC-135.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing aircraft hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to interpret Technical Orders, hydraulic schematics, and engineering documentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid U.S. passport and any required visas or travel documentation for CONUS/OCONUS travel.
  • Experience operating ground support equipment.
  • Knowledge of using specialized equipment, tools, and test equipment in accordance with appropriate USAF Technical Orders and Job Guides preferred.
  • Must have a valid state driver's license when required by job assignment.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a secret security clearance.
  • Must be able to work, day shift, night shift, weekends, holidays, overtime, or adjusted schedules as required.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain base access, Common Access Card, and required Government system access.

  • Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.
  • Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth.
