Job summary

Tyonek Native Corporation seeks avionics personnel to support KC-135 modification operations. Travel across CONUS/OCONUS is required to support maintenance and mission readiness.

Ideal candidates specialize in aircraft electrical and avionics systems, with experience troubleshooting, repairing, modifying, installing and testing avionics equipment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 4–6 years in electrical or avionics aircraft-related discipline, preferably KC-135.
• Formal aviation avionics training preferred.
• FCC license or FAA A&P license desired but not required.
• Ability to read and comprehend avionics and mechanical drawings, specs and schematics.
• Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. passport and travel documents for CONUS/OCONUS travel.
• Advanced electronics and electrical aptitude.
• Experience operating ground support equipment.
• Knowledge of USAF Technical Orders and Job Guides preferred.
• Valid state driver's license when required.
• Must obtain/maintain secret security clearance.
• U.S. citizen.
• Ability to obtain base access and government system access.
• Drug-free workplace; post-offer/pre-employment testing.

General Description

Avionics personnel support KC-135 aircraft modification operations. This position requires CONUS/OCONUS travel to support maintenance operations throughout the United States and overseas. Ideal candidates specialize in aircraft electrical and avionics systems, with experience troubleshooting, repairing, modifying, installing, and testing avionics equipment to ensure mission readiness.

Duties

• Performs documentation of maintenance, modification, and repair activities.
• Perform and conduct routine inspections, special inspections, and troubleshooting; as well as inspect the same tasks of other technicians as required by regulations.
• Install aircraft avionic, electrical, or communication systems, sensors, and antennas.
• Comply with both host facility safety and quality regulations/requirements as well as all applicable Tyonek quality and safety policies to ensure program success.
• Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 4 - 6 years on-the-job experience in any electrical or avionics aircraft-related discipline, preferably KC-135.
• Formal aviation avionics training from a technical trade or military technical school is preferred.
• A Federal Communication Commission (FCC) License or an Airframe and Powerplant License issued by the FAA with commensurate General or Military Aviation experience is desired but not required.
• Must possess the ability and equivalent experience to read and comprehend avionics and mechanical drawings, specifications, and schematics.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid U.S. passport and any required visas or travel documentation for CONUS/OCONUS travel.
• Advanced understanding and demonstration of electronics and electrical aptitude.
• Experience operating ground support equipment.
• Knowledge of using specialized equipment, tools, and test equipment in accordance with appropriate USAF Technical Orders and Job Guides preferred.
• Must have a valid state driver's license when required by job assignment.
• Must have or be able to obtain a secret security clearance
• Laser-focus on cost-effective and economical repair and support for all aircraft electrical and avionics system repairs and modifications
• Must be able to work, day shift, night shift, weekends, holidays, overtime, or adjusted schedules as required.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain base access, Common Access Card, and required Government system access.
