Job summary

An aviation services company in Jacksonville, Florida, seeks a candidate for an entry-level aircraft maintenance role. The candidate will assist with the disassembly, repair, and installation of various aircraft systems, including control surfaces and landing gear. Job description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Candidate works under journeyman supervision shall assist in disassembly, repair, rework and installation of various systems and components such as wings, control surfaces, control systems, landing gear, arresting gear, fuel cells, instrumentation, ejection seats, and engines

DUTIES
  • Shall have entry level experience and be able to assist with installing hydraulic tubing, actuating cylinders, and cable controls
  • Candidate will assist in rigging, adjustment and tests on various flight systems including landing gear, flight controls, instruments, oxygen/ environmental systems and power plants
  • Entry level experience in the installation of fuel system components to include self-sealing fuel cells and assist with the preservation or de-preservation of aircraft or aircraft components
  • As directed, the candidate may be required to: Take hydraulic or fuel contamination samples, perform corrosion control treatment, chemical or mechanical removal of corrosion deposits, Form-in Place (FIP) seal removal, a variety of general labor tasks relating to aircraft or aircraft systems maintenance as directed
  • Other Duties as Assigned
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • A&P license not required but a plus
  • Prefer experience from military fixed wing community (F/A-18, P-3, EA-6B, H-60) or civilian heavy structure background
  • 2-4 years' experience in aviation industry
  • Basic knowledge or aviation theory, maintenance and related hand tools and equipment
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be able to pass a background check and successfully complete a drug screen

  • Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for certain periods throughout the day.

  • May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • May be required to see aircraft in flight, read dials/gauges, identify small objects and hand tools.
  • Must be able to see imperfections, micrometer readings and other small scales.
  • Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.
  • Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth.
  • May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, forklift, APU, etc.
