Job summary

Westmoreland Mechanical Testing & Research, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Repair Technician to join our Hydraulics team.

You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on our state-of-the-art testing equipment, diagnose hydraulic and mechanical issues, and support upgrades in a fast-paced lab environment. Candidates with 1–3 years in industrial maintenance and hydraulics, the ability to read schematics, and strong problem-solving are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in industrial maintenance and hydraulics.
• Experience troubleshooting hydraulics and reading schematics.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with maintenance software and diagnostic tools.
• Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on advanced materials testing equipment and facility systems.
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic and mechanical components.
• Troubleshoot and maintain hydraulic pumps, valves, cylinders, hoses, manifolds, and servo-hydraulic systems.
• Install, troubleshoot, and repair single-phase and three-phase motors and controls.
• Read and interpret hydraulic and mechanical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Utilize diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and software to identify and resolve equipment issues.
• Perform equipment calibrations and verify system performance to ensure accurate testing results.
• Maintain maintenance logs, repair records, and calibration documentation.
• Assist in equipment upgrades, reliability initiatives, and long-term maintenance solutions.
• Support a safety-first culture by following all company safety policies and procedures.
