Placements24 is seeking a skilled Hydraulics Engineer to design and analyze hydraulic systems for potable water and wastewater networks. The role requires hands-on site engagement and collaboration with local authorities to deliver safe, compliant infrastructure.

You will develop plans, calculations, and specs, using WaterGEMS/EPANET/InfoWorks, and oversee construction while ensuring quality and timely project delivery. A strong background in hydraulics and water treatment is essential.

Qualifications

• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering with hydraulics or water engineering specialization.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in design and analysis of water and sanitation infrastructure.
• Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (WaterGEMS/EPANET/InfoWorks) essential.
• Willingness to travel to project sites within Upington area and surrounding regions.

Responsibilities

About the Role

A prominent consulting engineering firm specializing in Water and Sanitation Infrastructure is seeking a highly skilled Hydraulics Engineer to join their team in Upington, Northern Cape . This role is critical for the design and analysis of complex water reticulation systems, wastewater networks, stormwater management, and related infrastructure across the region. The successful candidate will contribute to vital projects aimed at improving water security and sanitation services. This is a hands‑on position requiring regular site engagement and collaboration with local authorities and communities.

Key Responsibilities

• Professional Engineer (PrEng) or Professional Engineering Technologist (PrTechEng) registration with ECSA is preferred.

• Strong understanding of fluid mechanics, hydrology, water treatment processes, and pipeline engineering.
• Experience in project management and construction supervision is advantageous.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
