Job summary

JLG, an Oshkosh company, is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to assist design engineers in the Design Team. You will gain exposure to Creo CAD, hydraulic systems for booms and scissors, and the JLG engineering process.

You will help prepare layouts, review components for weight and cost, and analyze hydraulic data. As an intern, you may contribute to test planning, fixture concepts, and coordinating with internal teams to meet schedule targets while operating in both office and field

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Familiarity with hydraulics and mechanical design principles.
• Ability to read hydraulic schematics and interpret measurements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicle component layouts using Creo and other CAD software.
• Select parts for weight, cost, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Read and interpret hydraulic schematics for boom and scissor models.
• Generate engineering calculations of flow, pressure, and performance.
• Consult with suppliers, customers, and internal teams to solve problems.
• Assist in testing complete vehicles or components.
• Analyze hydraulic/test data for performance information.
• Establish test requirements and plan testing when in prototype phase.
