Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Hydraulics and Drainage Engineer for the Surface Transportation Department in Michigan.

Projects may include the hydraulic analysis and drainage design for urban and rural roadways, interstate highways, interchanges, design-builds, detention/retention ponds, and MS4 solutions.

  1. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  2. Performs hydraulics and drainage engineering calculations with supervision.
  3. Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
  4. Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
  5. Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
  6. Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.
  7. Identifies discrepancies in results.
  8. Provides guidance to entry level engineers.
  9. Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
  10. Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works.
  11. Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  1. BA/BS + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. PE License in Michigan.
  2. 4 years of hydraulic engineering experience.
  3. Roadway projects experience.
  4. HEC-RAS, Bentley ORD experience preferred.

Additional Information

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $75,000.00 - $105,000.00.
