Job description

DESCRIPTION

Michael Baker is seeking a talented Drainage/Stormwater Engineer to join our Dearborn, MI office. This Engineer will have exposure to a wide range of interesting applications under the supervision of experts and leaders in the water industry.

As a key member of our team, you will assist other Project Engineers & Project Managers with tasks including:

  1. Preparing construction plans and specifications
  2. Stormwater design for projects including both bid-build and design-build projects
  3. Assisting in all aspects of roadway drainage design, including bridge hydraulic studies, culvert design, closed drainage system analysis, and sediment and erosion control design
  4. Performing hydrologic & hydraulic studies using software such as ORD Drainage & Utility, HY-8, and HEC-RAS
  5. Preparing cost estimates and technical reports
  6. Coordinating permitting efforts with stormwater agencies
  7. Training and mentoring junior engineers and technicians
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering
  • 4+ years of water resources experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Michigan
  • Experience with MicroStation
  • Experience with ArcGIS
  • Strong problem-solving skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • MDOT experience
  • Experience with HEC-RAS, SRH-2D, and SWMM
  • Experience with OpenRoads Designer, Drainage & Utility
COMPENSATION

The approximate salary range for this position is $69,000 - $100,000. This range is an estimate and actual compensation depends on education, experience, skillset, and location.
