Scope of the Position

This role involves laying out simple dies from prints or sketches, and developing or completing information in the prints as needed, based on part drawings.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will plan and perform fabrication and/or repair of all types of dies, die sets, and similar devices.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Card required, with at least eight years of experience, including six years in tool and die making and completion of a recognized apprenticeship program.
• Proficiency in using all shop tools and machine shop equipment such as lathe, mill, shaper, drill press, and others.
• Competent in using precision measuring tools like gauges, calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
• Experience with TIG welding.
• Knowledge of metal materials.
• Ability to work to tolerances of .0005 inch when required.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and use shop mathematics, including trigonometry.
• Physical ability to lift heavy materials and work in environments with welding fumes.
• High School diploma or GED, with vocational schooling preferred.
• Physical stamina to lift, twist, bend, squat, kneel, climb, and walk continuously.
• Good attendance and willingness to work mandatory overtime (6-7 days per week).
