Job summary

AFP Industries, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technologist or Technician for a full-time, on-site role in Summerville, SC. You will disassemble, inspect, recondition, reassemble and rebuild hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders and related components.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble and inspect hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders and related components.
• Recondition, reassemble, and rebuild cylinders and components.
• Read schematics and operation sheets to guide repairs.
• Test and set up repaired equipment.
• Report malfunctions to the Shop Manager.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The responsibilities of this position are to disassemble and inspect, evaluate, recondition, reassemble and rebuild hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders and other components.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ability to read schematics and operation sheets.
• Ability to disassemble and reassemble machines and equipment.
• Responsible for inspecting, identifying and installing seals.
• Responsible for testing and set-up of all repaired equipment.
• Reports any malfunctions or equipment problems to Shop Manager.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities Required:

• Must be proficient in basic cylinder assembly and teardown skills.
• Steady eye-hand coordination.

Physical Requirement:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Education and Experience Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
