Job summary

Yates Industries, Inc. is seeking a Repair Engineer Designer to reverse engineer, evaluate, and redesign hydraulic and pneumatic cylinder components for repair operations.

You will develop production-ready drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD, applying tolerances and vendor data to ensure manufacturability. The role requires strong mechanical aptitude and sound engineering judgment to propose cost-effective repair solutions aligned with quality and profitability goals.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Design, or related field.
• 2–4 years of related engineering design or repair experience recommended.
• Must be capable of reverse engineering, detailed drawings, and tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Perform reverse engineering of hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders and related components.
• Develop 2D/3D CAD models and drawings using SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD.
• Apply tolerances and vendor data to ensure accuracy and manufacturability.
• Review documentation to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Evaluate wear, damage, and failure modes to determine repair methods.
• Recommend repair processes to optimize cost, quality, and turnaround.
• Release drawings for production at company locations.
• Collaborate with technicians, machinists, and operations staff.
