Job summary

Micro Precision seeks a Technical Engineer to join our Engineering Department. You will review orders, extract technical requirements, and create precise CAD drawings and part models, especially for hydraulic systems, while maintaining flow-down routings and supporting cost/time optimization.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship is required per DoD requirements.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience with SolidWorks software.
• Experience reviewing technical documents and customer prints
• Experience with technical and information flow-down
• Experience with a variety of materials including steel, stainless steel, high temperature alloys, Inconel, titanium, nickel, etc.
• Experience in machining, assembly and test a plus.
• Lean Manufacturing certification and experience desirable
• Experience with ISO9001, and/or other Quality Management Systems.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Ability to work across the organization to identify and resolve issues.
• Positive attitude with continuous improvement mentality.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret customer purchase orders and contracts for technical requirements.
• In-depth research of technical requirements and their application to contracts.
• Condense large amounts of technical information from various sources into easy to interpret instructions and drawing.
• Become a SME for hydraulic systems.
• Maintain technical flow-down in routings.
• Create parts and assembly models and drawings.
• Maintain ECR, and ECN systems.
• Help create setup sheets and work instructions for machining, assembly and test.
• Create repeatability in manufacturing processes.
• Work to Engineering department standards.
• Read and understand GD&T requirements on engineering drawings.
• Engage in optimization and continuous improvement efforts on new and current processes.
• Prepare comprehensive and accurate reports.
• Work with Estimating and Production to reduce cost and lead time.
• Support Production and Quality in meeting manufacturing timelines.
• Participate in MRB part disposition.
• Participate in strategic planning for company capability and capacity growth.
• Physical effort, lifting or pushing up to 50lbs is required.
• Other duties as responsibilities necessitate.
