Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and Washington D.C., is hiring a Hydraulic Cylinder Technician in Chesapeake, Virginia. This entry-level position provides training to disassemble, inspect, repair/replace, reassemble, and test hydraulic cylinders to meet factory specifications. No previous experience is required, but strong aptitude is essential. Duties include troubleshooting and accurately diagnosing and repairing equipment. Previous experience troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment failures is preferred but not required. A high school diploma or GED is mandatory.
Must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 70 pounds, including bulky objects. Tasks involve stooping, kneeling, bending, and climbing around heavy equipment. Vision requirements include close, distance, and focus adjustment.
