Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and Washington D.C., is hiring a Hydraulic Cylinder Technician in Chesapeake, Virginia. The Hydraulic Cylinder Technician will receive training to disassemble, inspect, repair/replace, reassemble, and test hydraulic cylinders to meet factory specifications. This is an entry-level position requiring strong aptitude but no previous experience. Candidates with prior troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment failures are preferred but not required. A high school diploma or GED is required.
Requirements for the Hydraulic Cylinder Technician position include:
Physical requirements include the ability to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 70 pounds, including bulky objects. The role involves repeated stooping, kneeling, bending, and climbing on and around heavy equipment. Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and focus adjustment. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
