LARGE MANUFACTURING COMPANY IN SUFFOLK VA IS LOOKING FOR A MAINTENANCE MECHANIC. LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WITH EXPERIENCE WITH PLUMBING, ELECTRICAL AND MECHANICAL.
1ST SHIFT
HOURLY RATE: $33.72
- Monitor, troubleshoot and perform maintenance on all air compressors.
- Monitor, troubleshoot and perform maintenance on all water systems.
- Monitor, troubleshoot and perform maintenance on all fence repairs.
- Monitor and provide upkeep as needed for all facility grounds and landscaping.
- Monitor facility fire sprinkler systems.
- Conduct routine inspections of all safety and security systems.
- Monitor, troubleshoot and perform maintenance/repair on all types of infrastructure/building-related accessories such as doors, windows, etc.
- Perform general carpentry & sheet metal work as needed.
- Perform general masonry duties as needed.
- Perform general plumbing and drain repairs as needed.
- Perform routine weekly maintenance on waterless urinals in plant.
- Perform general repairs to toilets throughout the plant.
- Perform basic electrical & mechanical duties as needed (i.e.; lights, fans and motor starter repairs).
- Perform pump rebuilds as needed.
- Perform hydraulic/air cylinder repairs as needed.
- Perform repairs on dock levelers, dock lights, trash compactors, and roll up doors.
- Utilize the SAP or other designated system to document activities and to enter time daily.
- Must be capable of operating the on-site industrial wastewater treatment system.
- Be available and on call to support the plant in all weather-related issues (i.e.; snow removal, hurricane preparedness and clean-up).
- Have working knowledge of heli-arc welding.
- Have working knowledge of metals and their application, especially stainless steel.
- Be proficient in all machine shop equipment and practices, as well as proper use and care of all precision measuring tools.
- Operate all shop equipment including but not limited to lathes, mills, drill presses, grinders and welders.
- Work from blueprints, shop sketches or sample parts. This includes making sketches, recording dimensions and any other information needed to correct and update drawings.
- Be able to crate up equipment and parts for shipment.
- Be able to assemble equipment as needed (i.e.; fans, ladders, desks and scales).
- Maintain a good working relationship with all maintenance and production associates.
- Inform the Team Leader of any corrective maintenance required on equipment to ensure optimum line efficiency and product quality.
- Conform to hot work; confined space and other applicable OSHA requirements.
- Understand and accept HPWS culture and be supportive of plant/departmental team goals and vision.
- Support plant high performance culture and continuous improvement programs through active participation in QCDSM and plant productivity programs.
- Comply and actively participate in all safety (KSRMP) and environmental (KEMS) policies, procedures and programs. May serve on KSRMP team.
- Comply with all QCMS program requirements including HACCP and GMPs.
- Perform area housekeeping duties.
- Perform all tasks as assigned by supervisor.
