Hydraulic Cylinder Technician - Entry Level

Sign-on Bonus: $1,500, payable after 90 days of employment.

Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and Washington D.C., is hiring a Hydraulic Cylinder Technician in Chesapeake, Virginia. This entry-level position offers training to disassemble, inspect, repair/replace, reassemble, and test hydraulic cylinders to meet factory specifications.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Self-motivated team player.
• Willing to learn operation of specialized shop equipment.
• Proficient in computer use, including Microsoft Office and service software.
• Flexible to work shifts, including days, nights, and weekends.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to promote a positive customer experience.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 70 pounds.
• Repeated stooping, kneeling, bending, and climbing on and around heavy equipment.
