Job summary

Yates Industries, Inc. in Michigan is seeking a hands-on cylinder assembler to join our shop floor. You will assemble, test, and tag cylinders using hand tools, torque wrenches, and overhead cranes, following drawings and test instructions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Strong mechanical background with ability to read blueprints.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Able to work 40 hours per week.
• Experience reading tape measures/calipers.
• Prior heavy assembly experience is a plus.
• Attention to detail is critical.
• Safety-conscious and obeys procedures.
• Familiar with hydraulic cylinders and sealing systems.
• Able to prioritize multiple jobs.

Responsibilities

• Ensures cylinders are properly assembled according to drawings, blueprints, and test instructions on work orders.
• Uses hand tools, overhead cranes, pneumatic assembly tools, and torque wrenches to assemble cylinders.
• Assembles, tests, and tags all cylinders.
• Operates a 5000 psi test stand.
• Familiar with hydraulic cylinders and sealing systems.
• Keeps work area clean and organized daily.
• Observes safety at all times.
• Performs other shop duties as needed.
