Job summary

Valmont Industries, Inc. seeks a Fluid Power & Controls Engineer to design hydraulic and pneumatic systems for custom capital equipment and automation platforms.

You will own fluid power architectures from concept to commissioning, ensuring safety and reliability while collaborating with controls, fabrication, and testing teams. You will create 3D CAD drawings, develop schematics, participate in design reviews, and help drive continuous improvement across the equipment lifecycle at a global

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 3+ years in fluid design/manufacturing engineering.
• Experience leading projects and managing vendors; strong MS Office skills.
• Familiarity with PLC hardware/software (e.g., Control Logix) and robotics basics.

Responsibilities

• Design hydraulic and pneumatic systems for custom equipment.
• Create and maintain hydraulic/pneumatic schematics and layouts.
• Ensure safety, reliability, and manufacturability in designs.
• Collaborate with Controls Engineers for integration and commissioning.
• Develop documentation: drawings, BOMs, operating instructions.
