Job Description

Job Title: Hydraulic Assembler

Job Function: Rebuild/Production

Reports To: Manufacturing Application Engineer

Classification: Non-Exempt

Date Approved/Revised: February 8, 2024

Summary

With close or minimum supervision, assembles mechanical and/or hydraulic systems to support the needs of sales, engineering, customer service, management, and production schedules.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Employee must be able to perform these essential functions of the position satisfactorily and, if requested, reasonable accommodations may be made to enable employees with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job, absent undue hardship.

  • Under close or minimum supervision, assembles basic and advanced mechanical or hydraulic assemblies, and tests assemblies according to Quality System requirements.
  • With minimum supervision performs on-line testing and/or inspection activities.
  • In accordance with procedures and work instructions, cleans and prepares units for next operation.
  • Complies with all safety and hazardous material procedures, wears protective equipment as required to meet or exceed OSHA and company requirements.
  • Complies with all requirements of Quality System requirements.
  • Trains others on assembly, inspection and/or test procedures.
  • Maintains accurate records.
  • Maintains all aspects of work place cleanliness and organization.
  • May be required to drive forklift trucks and operate other metal working machinery, overhead cranes manipulators and/or lifts.
  • Provides assistance to other departments, as needed.
  • Participates in Small Group Improvement Activity Teams, daily Team Meetings and Team Exercise sessions.
  • Identifies opportunities for improvements and submits in accordance with Continuous Improvement Program.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with the requirements of the company’s ISO 9001 Quality Management System (when required).

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, climb, bend and kneel on a regular basis.
  • Regular manual dexterity/coordination: hand/eye movements, motor control.
  • Regular visual effort: concentrated reading of documentation or close viewing of computer displays.
  • Able to push, pull and lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Able to push, pull and lift up to 70 lbs. on an occasional basis.

Potential Hazards

  • Employee may be exposed to hazardous substances including a variety of petroleum- based products, cleaning solvents, etc. on a regular basis.
  • Employee may be exposed to sharp (cutting) tools on a regular basis.
  • Employee may be exposed to potential high pressure fluid hazards.
  • Employee may be exposed to loud noises that require hearing protection.

  • Operation Monitoring - Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.

Required Education/Experience/Skills

  • Mechanical or Electrical Background.
  • Basic Microsoft office and Windows computer skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines; to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to understand and follow posted work rules and procedures.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, solve problems, and complete tasks independently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with supervisors, members of management, vendors, and other employees.

Preferred Education/Experience/Skills

  • High School graduate, or equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

  • This position does not require any special certifications, licenses, or registrations.
