Job summary

Aerotek in Graham, NC is seeking a Hydraulic Assembler to install, assemble, and test hydraulic systems, including pumps, valves, hoses, cylinders, actuators, and reservoirs. You will read schematics, select components, and verify performance through pressure and flow tests.

This contract-to-hire role offers a Monday–Friday 7:00 AM–3:30 PM schedule with potential overtime. Hands-on hydraulic experience and the ability to work in confined spaces are required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with hydraulic systems and components.
• Ability to read hydraulic schematics and blueprints.
• Knowledge of hose, valve, cylinder, and actuator functions.
• Familiarity with filtration, contamination control, and fluids.
• Capable of selecting hose sizes and configurations for bucket trucks.

Job Title: Hydraulic Assembler

Job Description

The Hydraulic Assembler installs, assembles, and tests hydraulic systems, including pumps, valves, hoses, cylinders, actuators, reservoirs, and filtration components. This role ensures all hydraulic systems meet industry standards and specifications, performs pressure and flow tests to verify performance and efficiency, and calibrates equipment to meet operational requirements. The position also involves maintaining detailed records of installations, maintenance, and repairs, while managing and caring for hydraulic installation tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Install, assemble, and test hydraulic systems, including pumps, valves, hoses, cylinders, actuators, reservoirs, filters, and fittings.
• Build hydraulic hoses for bucket trucks from scratch, selecting appropriate hose sizes and fittings based on system requirements.
• Read and interpret hydraulic schematics and blueprints to guide assembly, installation, and troubleshooting activities.
• Conduct pressure and flow tests to verify the performance, efficiency, and safety of hydraulic systems.
• Calibrate hydraulic equipment and components to meet operational and performance specifications.
• Ensure all hydraulic systems comply with relevant industry standards and technical specifications.
• Maintain detailed records of hydraulic system installations, maintenance activities, repairs, and modifications.
• Manage, maintain, and properly use hydraulic installation tools and equipment to ensure reliability and safety.
• Identify and resolve mechanical and hydraulic issues using strong problem‑solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Work in confined spaces and at various heights as required by system installation and maintenance tasks.
• Support continuous improvement efforts by providing feedback on assembly processes, tooling, and system design.

Essential Skills

• Hands‑on experience with hydraulic systems and technologies, including pumps, valves, cylinders, actuators, reservoirs, filters, hoses, and fittings.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting hydraulic schematics and blueprints.
• Knowledge of hydraulic components and their functions within complete hydraulic systems.
• Familiarity with hydraulic fluid types, filtration systems, and contamination control practices.
• Ability to determine appropriate hose sizes and configurations for bucket truck applications and other hydraulic systems.
• Capability to accurately use measuring tools, including tape measures, for cutting and assembling hoses and components.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills for diagnosing and resolving hydraulic and mechanical issues.
• Experience working with hose assembly and fabrication in a production or service environment.
• Multiple years of experience working with hydraulic systems and related technologies.
• Experience in the automotive industry is preferred, particularly with hydraulic applications.

Work Environment

The role follows a Monday–Friday schedule from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with overtime typically occurring as extended shifts when needed. Duties may require working in confined spaces and at various heights, following appropriate safety protocols. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Graham, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
