Job Summary
Responsible for assembling, wiring, and plumbing new and used equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Three to six months related experience and/or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in the construction industry
KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Attention to details
- Able to read and understand engineering drawings and schematics
- Must be able to follow all PPE requirements
- Use of power and hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and operation of vehicles and equipment for diagnostic purposes
Job Responsibilities
- Install freshly painted components onto equipment per engineering drawings
- Wire trailer electrical systems including lights and brakes
- Plumb pneumatic brake systems on larger units
- Install hydraulic components and plumb hydraulic circuits per engineering drawings
- Install electronic components and wire electronic circuits per engineering drawings
- Set pressures on hydraulic circuits and verify parameters for electronic systems
- Perform system operation checks and take corrective action if necessary
- Operate equipment to test functionality and spool rope/cable onto reels when applicable
- Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and electronic issues and recommend corrective actions
- Wash units after final inspection
- Assist in maintenance of rental fleet when necessary
- Perform repairs and preventative maintenance checks and services in accordance with appropriate maintenance schedules
- Keep the tools and work area clean and organized
- Keep the supervisor aware of parts and inventory used so they may be replaced
- Complete applicable maintenance forms and records
- Perform additional duties as assigned
