Job summary

Everus Construction Group, Inc. is seeking a Fleet Mechanic to inspect, maintain, and repair equipment used in the powerline industry, ensuring rental readiness.

You will diagnose, service hydraulics, trailers, electronics, and structural components, while keeping accurate records and following safety procedures. On-site collaboration with the fleet department is essential for uptime and compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; related trade training considered.
• Two years of maintenance/repair experience on trucks or heavy equipment, or diesel tech education.
• Combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform duties.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, rebuild, and repair equipment used in the powerline industry.

JOB SUMMARY

As a mechanic for the fleet department, you will perform inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs to equipment both company and customer owned with minimal supervision. The fleet department ensures the equipment is ready for rent by evaluating the equipment is in good condition and fully functional.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
• Two years’ experience in maintenance and repair of trucks and/or heavy equipment or education in diesel technology;
• or related field or any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
  

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

Considerable knowledge of methods, materials, tools and techniques used in vehicle and equipment repair and maintenance.

Must be able to work in extreme elements

Experience with electrical systems, including computerized induction/ignition systems

Must be able to follow all PPE requirements

Skills include use of power and hand tools, use of diagnostic equipment and experience with operation of vehicles and equipment for diagnostic purposes

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Diagnoses, rebuilds and repairs equipment that is used in the powerline industry.

• Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, governing agencies and the public.
• Other duties as assigned based on business need.
