Job summary

Twelve designs and builds the world’s most inspiring merchandise and packaging for top brands. As a Product Developer focused on Hydration, you will own end-to-end development of drinkware and hydration products, working with design, engineering, sourcing, quality, and factories to deliver brand-aligned, safe, and high-performance products.

You will manage multiple programs, translate concepts into clear specs, and drive schedules from concept to production in a fast-paced global environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of product development experience in hot and cold hydration, drinkware, housewares, outdoor products, or related consumer product category.
• Experience managing full product lifecycle from concept and specification through prototyping, testing, tooling, production and delivery.
• Strong knowledge of materials, coatings, and manufacturing processes used in hydration products.
• Experience with domestic and overseas manufacturing partners on technical development and production execution.
• Strong costing and negotiation skills for tooling, materials, packaging, freight, and margins.
• Clear and effective communicator across design, sales, client, and factory teams.
• Knowledge of food-contact materials and product safety requirements.
• Working knowledge of AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini) and applying them to streamline workflows.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary link between internal creative/industrial design teams, sourcing partners, and factories for hydration products and packaging.
• Develop a deep understanding of each client’s brand, consumer, price point, and hydration strategy to deliver cohesive assortments.
• Collaborate with design, engineering, quality, and sales to introduce new materials, constructions, features, and manufacturing techniques.
• Own multiple hydration programs, manage timelines, budgets, quality, and approvals across assortments.
• Build and maintain development schedules covering concept handoff, costing, prototyping, testing, tooling, sampling, production, and delivery.
• Translate concepts into clear product briefs, technical specs, BOMs, packaging, and factory comments.
• Develop accurate specs for bottles, tumblers, lids, straws, handles, seals, and related hydration accessories.
• Evaluate prototypes for construction, ergonomics, leak resistance, thermal performance, durability, finish and cleanability.
• Partner with vendors to source materials, negotiate pricing, and execute multi-SKU hydration programs.
• Balance target costs with design integrity, performance, quality, packaging, tooling, freight, and brand standards.
