Job summary

Institute for Health and Recovery in Worcester, MA, seeks a Youth Support Mentor to provide brief intervention and counseling using iDECIDE and Project Amp curricula to at‑risk youth.

Youth with lived recovery experience will engage families and partner agencies, build rapport, assess needs, and connect youths to prevent substance use and related challenges. This hybrid role combines on-site presence with remote collaboration.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in social work or related field.
• Lived recovery experience required.
• Experience with transition-age youth and SUD/COD preferred.
• Experience in multicultural environments is a plus.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Provide iDECIDE and Project Amp curriculum to youth.
• Engage in outreach to raise awareness of prevention and treatment resources.
• Collaborate with families and collaterals to support participation.
• Build rapport with youth and families; assess needs and strengths.
• Coordinate with partner agencies to connect youth to supports.
• Maintain written records, including EHRs and evaluations.
• Attend team and agency meetings and trainings.
