Job summary

AltaPointe Health Systems seeks a Therapeutic Mentor to support youth by building trusting relationships and guiding engagement with services.

You will coach youth in age-appropriate behaviors, support problem-solving and conflict resolution, and lead group sessions within a recovery-focused treatment plan.

Requirements include a high school diploma, valid driver's license, and flexibility to work evenings/weekends; you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and follow policy.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of youth/young adult mental health and related challenges.
• Knowledge of cultural diversity.
• Knowledge of Alabama DMH and Medicaid standards.
• Knowledge of behavior management, crisis intervention, and non-violent crisis intervention practices.
• Knowledge of a recovery-oriented treatment approach.
• Ability to communicate effectively with multi-disciplinary team.
• Ability to connect with youth/young adults and share skills and knowledge with others.

Responsibilities

• Build trusting relationships to provide youth support.
• Coach youth in age-appropriate behaviors.
• Guide youth in problem-solving and conflict resolution.
• Provide one-on-one and group sessions.
• Attend treatment team meetings to discuss plans and progress.
• Document interactions and progress in records.
• Support youth in accessing community resources.
• Participate in staff meetings and improvement activities.
• Maintain confidentiality and respectful conduct.
