Job summary

Schwab is seeking a Web3 Platform Engineer to design and scale tokenization infrastructure across Ethereum/EVM, Besu, Canton, and other networks. The role emphasizes building reusable platform services, integration with wallets and custody, and secure production-grade systems.

You will own the end-to-end design and implementation of blockchain connectivity, contract interaction layers, and transaction orchestration, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure scalable, audited

Qualifications

5+ years of software engineering experience building distributed systems or blockchain infrastructure.
Strong hands-on Web3 engineering experience.
Deep understanding of Ethereum/EVM, including smart contracts, ABI encoding, and gas handling.
Experience with backend services that interact with blockchain nodes, wallets, and custody platforms.
Experience with JSON-RPC, WebSocket subscriptions, event indexing, and contract interaction layers.
Knowledge of Canton/Daml concepts, validator/participant models, and institutional blockchain workflows.

Responsibilities

Design and build reusable Web3 platform services for tokenization and transaction processing.
Develop backend services that interact with blockchain nodes, wallets, and custody platforms.
Create blockchain abstraction layers supporting multiple networks (Besu, Ethereum, Layer 2, private chains).
Implement blockchain connectivity using JSON-RPC, event logs, and contract queries.
Support Canton/Daml-based networks, including package lifecycle and authorization workflows.
Collaborate with platform, infra, and operations teams on validator strategies and deployments.
