Job summary

Union College is seeking a versatile Web Designer & Digital Strategist to own the college’s web presence. You will bridge visual design, content strategy, and light front-end work within a Drupal environment, collaborating with senior leaders and a small web team.

You’ll contribute to digital storytelling, site architecture, and brand consistency while engaging across departments to deliver cohesive web solutions in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• 4–6+ years of digital/web design experience.
• Portfolio demonstrating clean web layout design and responsive execution.
• Experience or interest in user journey mapping and content hierarchy.
• Hands-on CMS experience within Drupal preferred.
• Basic front-end coding skills (HTML/CSS/JS) to implement tweaks.
• Collaborative project management across departments.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and design responsive web layouts and landing pages.
• Plan, structure, and refine digital content for clear student messaging.
• Manage site layouts in Drupal and apply light front-end tweaks.
• Maintain and evolve digital brand standards across channels.
• Collaborate with campus stakeholders to translate goals into web solutions.
• Support team initiatives and campus communications as needed.
