Job summary

BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina is seeking an Application Web Development Manager to lead the design, development and support of external and internal web applications. This hybrid role sits in Columbia, SC, with responsibilities spanning staff leadership, project delivery and architecture alignment.

You will guide cross-functional teams, manage priorities, and drive software development practices to deliver scalable, secure solutions for customers and business partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree – Any major or 4 years related work experience or 2 years plus an associate’s degree.
• Seven years of related IT experience.
• Experience in financial, insurance or healthcare environments preferred.
• Experience with product development and collaboration across multiple teams with different models.

Responsibilities

• Recruiting and hiring, coaching and mentoring, evaluation, and disciplinary actions.
• Coordinate activities through direct and indirect staff and manage teams to meet milestones.
• Oversee workload via scheduling, planning and resource assignment.
• Ensure staff can gather requirements and documentation per area methodology.
• Work with customers and application architects to align software with IT strategy.
• Review project estimates and participate in reviews and status reporting.
• Document, develop and analyze IT solutions for efficiency improvements.
• Monitor processes and present solutions to senior management.
• Prepare annual budget for the area and participate in budget reviews.
