Job summary

American Water Works Service Company, Inc. is seeking a supervisor for front-line production operations based in Short Hills, NJ. The role involves leading a team, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and efficient water treatment processes.

The ideal candidate has 5 years of field experience, a related Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel. A valid driver’s license and union experience are preferred for this position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, or related field preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Office; Excel skills preferred.
• 5 years of relevant experience in field.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Previous experience managing a Union workforce preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of front-line staff engaged in production operations.
• Schedule training and development activities to ensure operator certifications.
• Participate in the resolution of union and/or non-union labor issues.
• Coordinate construction of new and/or upgraded production facilities within budget.
• Implement a preventative maintenance program for assets to save OPEX and defer CAPEX.
• Oversee security efforts at production facilities.
• Ensure treated water meets regulatory standards for customers.
• Ensure adherence to American Water policies and reporting requirements.
• Comply with regulations including TCPA, DPCC, etc.
• Manage treatment chemical storage and deliveries.
