Job summary

The Utah Division of Water Resources is seeking a hardworking Water Conservation Coordinator to manage the Transparent Water Billing Grant Program, oversee water conservation plans, review rebate applications, and assist with public outreach and events in Salt Lake City.

This full-time, hybrid role requires strong communication, organization, and knowledge of Utah water issues, with duties ranging from tracking plans and contracts to presenting at community events and teaching Localscapes

Qualifications

• Strong communication and organization skills.
• Effective ability to convey information concisely through writing and verbally.
• General knowledge of water in Utah.
• Professional work experience in water conservation.
• Professional experience with running programs and managing projects with deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Run the division's Transparent Water Billing Grant Program: Set application windows, review applications, monitor contracts, meet regularly with applicants, and review final reports for program compliance.
• Oversee Water Conservation Plans: Water providers with 500+ connections and water districts are required to submit a Water Conservation Plan every 5 years. This position will track plans, notify systems of due dates, review submitted plans, and ensure compliance with the Water Conservation Plan Act.
• Rebates: Work with a team to review rebate applications and ensure compliance with program rules.
• Public Outreach: Represent the division at community events, present about water conservation at various events and classes, and teach Localscapes classes.
• Other duties as assigned.
