Job summary

GFT is seeking an experienced Resident Engineer - Wastewater to join our Construction Services team. This on-site role leads wastewater projects, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency in the field with a strong emphasis on documentation and coordination.

You will manage multiple tasks across treatment facilities, pump stations, and collection systems, working with diverse teams on schedule, budget, and compliance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of construction experience with wastewater treatment plants
• Strong communication with project team members including owners and contractors
• Experience with collection and conveyance pipe projects
• Ability to read and interpret plans and specs; navigate uneven sites
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather; some night/weekend work possible
• Proficient with project documentation and data management systems like Procore
• OSHA 10/30 certification or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire

Responsibilities

• Provide quality assurance and technical guidance
• Review/approve monthly pay estimates with Contractors
• Prepare/review correspondence to and from Contractors and owner
• Schedule and oversee testing agencies
• Oversee maintenance of project records
• Coordinate and respond to contractor RFIs
• Coordinate equipment and facility start-up activities
• Conduct and/or facilitate construction meetings
• Coordinate and manage inspectors and on-site personnel
• Prepare/Review change order documents
• Assist Document Control with schedule compliance
• Prepare progress reports and Substantial/Final Completion documents
