Job summary

Citi in Tampa, Florida, seeks a Full Stack Java Engineering Manager to lead design and delivery of full-stack Java applications powering Citi's technology platforms. You will write code, pair with engineers, and influence architecture within a global engineering team.

You will mentor engineers, shape architecture decisions, and drive cloud-native solutions using Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift, while emphasizing quality, testing, and agile delivery practices.

Qualifications

• Bring 8+ years of professional experience in Java development.
• Apply best practices: unit testing, automation, design patterns, peer reviews.
• Strong understanding of data structures and OOP in Java.
• Build cloud-native apps with Docker, Kubernetes or OpenShift.
• Design microservices with REST and GraphQL.
• Develop with Spring Boot and CI/CD pipelines (Tekton, Harness, CircleCI, Jenkins).
• Deliver software through agile, iterative practices.
• Hold a BA/BS degree or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Design and build full-stack Java apps using cloud-native architectures.
• Write high-quality, testable code and pair with engineers to accelerate delivery.
• Break down user stories and acceptance criteria for backlog clarity.
• Deliver working software each sprint as an active team contributor.
• Document enterprise-grade applications using current tech and design patterns.
• Apply lifecycle expertise and resolve issues with stakeholders.
• Define and evolve technical and team engineering standards.
• Partner with leadership to shape architecture decisions and delivery alignment.
