Job summary

American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) seeks a front-end developer to craft accessible, high-performing web experiences across AAOS CMS and related platforms.

You will translate UX wireframes and designs into clean HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript, collaborating with product, marketing, content teams, and backend engineers. This hybrid role is based in Rosemont, Illinois with some remote work and projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years building responsive web apps or CMS-driven experiences.
• Strong HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, TypeScript, and responsive development.
• Experience building reusable UI components and templates.
• Translate designs into polished front-end and CMS experiences.
• Experience with source control, PRs, and code reviews.
• Experience with UX, IA, accessibility principles.
• Experience collaborating with nontechnical stakeholders to deliver solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain responsive, accessible web experiences across AAOS CMS and related platforms.
• Build reusable front-end components, templates, content blocks, styles, and patterns for scalable delivery.
• Translate UX requirements, wireframes, prototypes, and stakeholder needs into clean HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Collaborate with backend engineers on CMS content models, application functionality, integrations, personalization, search, forms, and related capabilities.
• Support debugging, release validation, code reviews, documentation, and modernization of components and templates.
