Job summary

CAN Capital, a market leader in small business finance, is seeking an Underwriter Associate in a hybrid role. You will manage the loan application workflow in Salesforce, ensure completed files meet underwriting criteria, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize risk and profitability.

The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Prior CRM exposure and proficiency with Excel are advantageous.

Qualifications

• AA degree or higher in a business-related discipline preferred.
• CRM experience is a plus but not required.
• Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, and MS Teams.
• Ability to produce high-quality work within SLAs.
• Clear written and verbal communication is essential.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment.
• Self-motivated with the ability to collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage loan application workflow in Salesforce on a first-in, first-out basis.
• Gather accurate, timely information using fact-finding techniques.
• Review required elements to ensure stability of loan offers and assess credit risk.
• Identify missing or incorrect information to complete merchant profiles.
• Process each application, confirming or declining per procedures.
• Ensure a complete checklist for each loan, maintain audit trail.
• Handle pipeline in line with SLAs and communicate issues to leadership.
