Job summary

Creighton Manning, a GAI Consultants Company, seeks an experienced Transportation Project Manager in Albany, NY. Hybrid work arrangement with travel ~25% and full-time employment. You will lead highway design projects, manage client relationships, schedules, budgets, QA/QC, and mentor engineers.

Ideal candidate has Civil Engineering degree, PE preferred, 8+ years’ experience, and familiarity with NYSDOT standards; strong leadership and proposal development skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program.
• 8+ years of experience in a similar engineering role.
• PE license preferred; additional engineering experience may be substituted for PE licensure.
• Active membership in a professional practice organization.
• Ability to travel approximately 25% and work occasional hours outside the standard schedule.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the day-to-day client contact for assigned projects.
• Act as concurrent project manager on basic, intermediate, and complex projects.
• Manage project staffing, scheduling, budgets, and billing.
• Review complete project documents for conformity and lead QA/QC.
• Lead project meetings and public meetings on complex projects.
• Coordinate multidiscipline project teams.
• Train and provide technical guidance to project engineers and staff engineers.
• Develop and evaluate plans and criteria for work performed by Engineer I–IV staff.
• Assist in preparing intermediate and complex proposals and attend proposal interviews.
• Represent the firm at client meetings, industry conferences, and business development activities.
