Actalent is seeking a Transportation Engineer in Columbus, OH to support roadway, trail, streetscape, and multimodal projects for public agencies. The role uses AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bentley OpenRoads Designer to produce compliant plan sets within a hybrid work model and a strong project backlog.

You will collaborate with project managers, engineers, survey staff, and other disciplines, ensuring designs meet ODOT standards and local requirements while delivering high-quality construction

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• 15 years of experience in transportation engineering and design for ODOT or municipal projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Bentley OpenRoads Designer for transportation design and plan production.
• Understanding of roadway design principles and transportation plan production processes.
• Familiarity with ODOT standards, specifications, and plan preparation requirements.
• Strong communication and organizational skills to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Aufgaben

• Prepare detailed design plans and construction documents for roadway, trail, streetscape, and transportation improvement projects.
• Develop horizontal and vertical alignments, profiles, corridors, cross sections, and grading.
• Create plan sheets such as typical sections, plan and profile sheets, cross sections, maintenance of traffic plans, signing and pavement marking plans, and traffic control details.
• Perform engineering calculations, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates to support project design and delivery.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, survey staff, and other design disciplines to ensure cohesive and accurate project deliverables.
• Review design plans for compliance with ODOT standards, local agency requirements, and industry best practices.
• Participate in field reviews, site visits, and project coordination meetings to validate designs and address project issues.
• Assist in responding to client comments, incorporating plan revisions, and updating construction documents accordingly.
