Job summary

Vanasse Hangen Brustlin Inc. (VHB) is seeking a Transportation and Highway Design Intern for Summer 2027 in Wethersfield, CT.

You will gain hands-on experience by supporting transportation projects, working with engineers, designers and planners on real-world tasks. You'll apply classroom knowledge to project design, prepare drawings in AutoCAD or MicroStation, manage data, and coordinate with team members to meet schedules.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Support transportation engineering and highway design projects with experienced professionals.
• Assist with preparing and updating design drawings using AutoCAD and/or Bentley MicroStation.
• Create, organize, and use geospatial transportation data to support project analysis and design.
• Prepare documents and spreadsheets, and organize and analyze project data.
• Coordinate with project team members to complete assigned tasks accurately and on schedule.
• Collaborate across disciplines to support development of transportation design solutions.
