Job summary

VHB is seeking motivated civil engineering students for internship work focused on transportation design and traffic engineering. You will collaborate with staff, assist with calculations, and help prepare reports and surveys.

The role includes field data collection, quality reviews, and supporting the development of preliminary and final construction plans, with opportunities to perform quantity take-offs and related tasks in a flexible, hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering.
• Interest in transportation design and/or traffic engineering.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to independently manage multiple tasks and interact positively with clients.
• Self-motivated with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with VHB staff to advance projects efficiently.
• Assist with engineering calculations, analysis, and report preparation.
• Conduct field investigations, data collection, and survey quality reviews.
• Support completion of preliminary and final construction plans.
• Perform quantity take-offs and calculations.
