Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a transmission line engineer to design lines from 69kV to 765kV, develop cost estimates, and specify components. You will model lines in PLS-CADD and prepare drawings, considering foundations, structures, and conductor choices.

The role emphasizes collaboration, automation awareness, and adherence to standards. This hybrid position requires office presence three days per week with two remote days, and a relocation package may be offered depending on location.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree preferred or equivalent coursework.
• Experience with transmission line design and applicable standards.
• Proficiency with PLS-CADD, AutoCAD, ArcGIS and related tools.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Design transmission lines from 69kV to 765kV.
• Prepare construction sketches for overhead/underground networks.
• Perform structural and foundation design for poles and towers.
• Conduct conductor selection and grounding studies.
• Develop cost estimates and procurement specs.
• Model lines in PLS-CADD and generate plan drawings.
• Review vendor submittals and ensure conformance.
