Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Transmission Line Engineer to support the design and execution of high-voltage transmission projects. This role focuses on overhead transmission line engineering, including structure design, routing, conductor selection, plan and profile development, and project coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering.
• 3+ years of transmission line design experience.
• PE license preferred or ability to obtain licensure in a reasonable timeframe.
• Experience designing overhead transmission systems in utility, consulting, or EPC environments.
• Proficiency with PLS-CADD and related transmission design software.
• Strong understanding of routing, conductor selection, structure spotting, foundations, and construction considerations.
• Familiarity with industry standards including NESC, ASCE, IEEE, ANSI.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering and design for transmission line projects from 34.5kV through 500kV.
• Develop cost-effective, constructible transmission line designs.
• Prepare engineering calculations, design packages, and construction documents.
• Support project planning, scheduling, and technical execution.
• Coordinate with clients, project teams, and other engineering disciplines.
• Review and develop material takeoffs and project deliverables.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and applicable codes.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers as experience allows.
• Support project meetings, client interactions, and occasional field activities.
• Travel periodically in support of project and client needs.
