Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking a Transmission Production Cost Modeling Analyst to shape the future of the electric power system. You will prepare and direct economic planning using PROMOD and other tools, supporting regulatory filings and testimony.

This hybrid role requires experience in transmission modeling, production cost inputs, and data maintenance to deliver accurate analyses for regulatory agencies and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
• 5+ years analyzing transmission systems; 3+ years in wholesale energy markets with financial tools/software.
• Advanced quantitative analysis skills and extensive modeling knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Develop energy market forecasts for transmission development and long-range planning.
• Create production cost inputs for transmission modeling and uploads.
• Perform modeling analyses to evaluate transmission assets and regional plans.
• Prepare responses for regulatory information requests and testimony.
• Support interregional project evaluations and congestion mitigation.
• Maintain data integrity for transmission and generation systems.
