Job summary

GFT seeks a Transit & Rail Project Manager to join our Transit & Rail Project Delivery Team in Chicago, IL, with a hybrid work model requiring regular office attendance.

The role focuses on leading design teams, managing plans, specs, and cost estimates, coordinating multi-disciplinary groups, and delivering complex transit projects from design through construction. PE required; 10+ years of experience in major T&R projects preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (civil or structural preferred).
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) is required.
• 10+ years progressive experience on major infrastructure projects with emphasis in Transit & Rail (T&R).
• Experience leading T&R design projects and managing project teams (employees and sub-consultants).
• Excellent client management and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Work with multiple disciplines and clients to capture and document project scope.
• Lead development of design and consultant task orders.
• Advise management on contracts using project data, lessons learned, and industry best practices.
• Support program-level deliverables and initiatives.
• Lead improvement and standardization efforts of engineering and construction management task orders and blanket contracts.
• Participate in construction and capital program delivery enhancement efforts.
• Facilitate meetings with user groups and technical leads across project lifecycles.
• Develop and maintain client relationships.
